Support for surviving artists and their families

We have networked with surviving artists and their families to set up copyright framework for them to receive royalties, and we provide them with periodic donations. We also compensate the collectors who have granted us permission to digitize their collections. We are working with surviving artists to record new original music.

Who are we supporting?

The CVMA supports So Savoeun, Ros Saboeun (Ros Seresothea’s sister), Kao Thong Nhok (Sinn Sisamouth’s wife), Keo Sinan (a record’s collector) with periodic donations to support their living expenses.

So Savoeun, Singer

Ms So was born in 1945. Currently, she lives in France. We are fortunate to have her as one of the surviving members of the Golden Era. She has been enriching the fabric of Cambodian music for  six decades. She firmly believes in the mission of CVMA.

Dom Sam Aun, 81 years old
(A wife of Svay Sam Eua)

Mrs. Sam Aun is the late wife of the composer Svay Sam Eua. They married in 1965, Phnom Penh. Currently she lives alone in a small wooden house located in Prey Rean Village, Prey Chor District in Kampong Cham province, Cambodia. Giving this situation, it is very challenging for her living alone due to her age and health. She has transferred the exclusive rights of Svay Sam Eua to CVMA in 2021.

Ros Saboeun
(The oldest sister of Ros Serey Sothea)

She is the only surviving sister of Ros’s family. Ros Saboeun lives in Battambang. She has transferred the exclusive ownership of a song "ឈាមខ្មៅ” by Ros Sereysothea to CVMA in 2021.

Keo Sinan, the Collector

Mr Keo was born in 1944 in Kompong Thom province. He lives in Dong village, Kompong Thmor, Kampong Thom province, Cambodia. He has a great number of records that have been kept with him since 1960s.

El Bunna, Music Composer

Mr. El is one of the among Cambodian youngest composers who survived the Cambodian genocide between 1975 and1979. He has already transferred the exclusive ownership of the 30 songs to CVMA in 2022.

Sok Sovann
(A wife of Sinn Sethkol)

He is the late wife of Mr. Sinn. Since Mr. Sinn sudden death, she has to responsible to take care of 3 children. Giving this circumstances, CVMA is providing a financial support for her children.
